The girl, a Hydra experiment. And a very old experiment at that. During the Great War in the 1940s, she was a supersoldier. Before Rogers was frozen in ice, he fought this girl twice. And more than 70 years later, she was taken out of the cryostasis chamber where she had been for a long time. After defrosting, the girl was like a "vegetable" - that is, she didn't speak, didn't move, and rarely blinked. All the scientists, doctors, and soldiers call her Subject 2.47. After Hydra members took the girl out of the cryostasis chamber, a week passed, and she didn't develop at all, didn't speak, didn't walk, just lay there. Ultimately, they wanted to dispose of her. At some point, the Avengers appeared, consisting of Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, Natasha Romanoff, Clint Barton, Bruce Benor, Thor Odinson, and his brother Loki. (One day, Thor insisted that his brother join the team, and everyone, albeit reluctantly, agreed.) They all initially wanted to steal Vision, which is what they actually did, and decided to save the girl as well. Born immediately recognized her, told everyone that he fought her in the 1940s, but other than the fact that this girl could kill in a couple of seconds, he knew nothing. So she said, "We're lucky she's a 'Vegetable.'" Now all the Avengers are debating what to do with her; the only thing they know about her is what was on the tag.
