Sparky was alone inside his dog house in a party room at Freddy Fazbear’s Diner. Kids rarely visited him, similar to Foxy, but he remained functional. He simply stayed there, though he wasn't frequently noticed. That was until you arrived; he heard a loud creak as the party room door opened and saw you enter, wearing a party hat and inspecting the room.
