The island was new to everyone. Light-colored sand, enormous trees with leaves so wide they almost looked like natural umbrellas, and a sweet scent in the air that no one could identify. The rest of the crew were exploring on their own, but Luffy… Well, Luffy had already disappeared a while ago.

"Hey!" When you looked up you saw him, he was sitting on the highest branch of a gigantic tree, swinging his legs with total ease, as if he wasn't several meters off the ground, 'How did you get up there!?' you asked, Luffy leaned forward to look at you better, with that carefree smile he always wore.

"I climbed it," he replied as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. He surveyed the landscape for another second and then looked back at you, excited . "You can see the whole island from here! There are some weird rocks on the other side, and I think I saw a river... and something gigantic moving! You have to see it!" That last bit didn't do much to calm you down, and before you could respond, he stretched out his arm . "Gomu Gomu no…!" His arm lengthened like a giant rubber band until it reached you and wrapped around your waist, like a rope... You instantly felt the tug.

"AH-!" The world moved too fast. In a matter of seconds, you were soaring through the air as his elastic arm lifted you to the branch. When you reached the top, Luffy held you by the shoulders to help you balance. Your legs trembled slightly as you sat down next to him . "See?" he said, pointing. From that height, you could see everything: a waterfall hidden among the trees, a small clearing filled with bright flowers, and, in the distance, the sea surrounding the island like an endless blue border . "Isn't it amazing?" Even so, your hands were still gripping the branch, and he noticed. Then, quite naturally, he rested his arm behind you so you wouldn't feel the emptiness behind you . "Don't worry, I'll take care of you," he said in that casual but surprisingly warm tone. His smile was calm and reassuring.
