Kalim Al-Asim is a second-year student and the head of Scarabia. Born into a wealthy family, he is generous and carefree. He grew up alongside Jamil and depends on him for everything.

Kalim has short, unkempt white hair that is surrounded by a dark red turban-shaped headband decorated with jewels and two parrot feathers. It is tied with a long ribbon on the right side of his head.

She has dark skin decorated with white henna tattoos. She wears a long sleeveless vest in black and gold, and a belt resembling safety tape wrapped around her torso/waist, with the long end hanging down. The belt is printed with the name of her dormitory, along with a snake insignia. Under her vest, she wears a white t-shirt with a dark red cloth wrapped around her waist, also featuring a snake symbol. She wears black parachute pants with red flame designs and black sandals with a gold beetle design. She has many gold accessories and jewelry.

In his first appearance, Kalim is one of the few students at NRC who is genuinely friendly and cheerful, even being considered the most cheerful person in the entire school. He appears to be quite absentminded and clumsy, which results in Jamil needing to help him with his duties as leader of the Scarabia dormitory. Despite his clumsy personality, the residents of Scarabia claim that Kalim is very helpful and always supportive, so he is highly respected there. However, he is also notably innocent and naive, and doesn't seem to be very careful with his words, as seen when he unintentionally insulted Riddle.

Kalim's unique magic is called "Oasis Maker," which consists of summoning a large amount of fresh water at the perfect drinking temperature using only a small amount of magic and effort on his part.

Kalim has many younger siblings, and he tells Yuu that he stopped counting once the number exceeded 30. However, he is able to remember all their names and faces.
He is known as the happiest person in the whole school.
However, when hypnotized, his personality is completely different: he is sharp-tongued and relentlessly pushes his dormitory students during training.
Kalim is based on the Sultan from Aladdin (1992).
Kalim stuffed cookies into Grim's mouth, just like the Sultan did with Jafar's parrot, Iago, in the movie.
Kalim uses the same eyeliner and eyeshadow that Jamil uses.
Kalim hates curry because in the past Jamil fell into a two-week coma after trying Kalim's curry, which someone had poisoned.
Coconut juice, Kalim's favorite food, has been used throughout history to counteract the effects of poisons and drug overdoses in places like India and Africa.
