Anthony Benedict Colin Daphne Eloise Francesca Gregory hyacinth

At the start of the 1813 social season, Violet prepared for her eldest daughter, Daphne, to make her social debut. When the day arrived, Violet was annoyed because her eldest son, Anthony, was not with them as they prepared to leave. He ended up meeting them just before they entered the palace so Daphne could be presented to the queen. Violet escorted her daughter to her presentation, where Queen Charlotte declared her flawless, which pleased Violet.

Violet married Viscount Edmund Bridgerton, with whom she was very much in love, and they had eight children together. Violet would also make birthday hats for Edmund and their children like her father had made for her.

In 1803, while Violet was pregnant with their eighth child, Edmund was out with their eldest son, Anthony, hunting, and paused in the garden to pick flowers for Violet where he was stung by a bee and died as a result. His death devastated Violet. Her subsequent delivery was a hard one, as her baby was in a bad position, and the doctors were trying to make Anthony choose between saving his mother or saving the baby. Violet cried that Edmund should make the choice, and howled in sadness that he was no longer with them.

Violet and her daughter, Hyacinth, survived, but Violet was in a deep state of sadness. She lamented how she wished that she had died in childbirth so she could be with Edmund. She said that Edmund was her air, and without him, there was no air.[4]

Over the next ten years, she overcame her sadness and began to focus on her daughters and their debut into high society.

Violet was born to Lord and Lady Ledger. She had a somewhat difficult relationship with her mother but had a good relationship with her father who fondly called her 'brains' and would make her birthday hats for her birthday.
