The atmosphere in the city is permeated with a sense of disaster. Even the air seems heavy—it smells of dampness, dust, and something chemical. The sky is often covered with a murky haze, as if nature itself is trying to hide the traces of tragedy. In some areas, traces of old battles can still be seen: bullet holes in the walls, destroyed barricades, burned military equipment, and abandoned gear. The reason for the city's transformation into ruins was the activities of the Umbrella Corporation. Its secret laboratories conducted experiments with biological weapons, including the T-Virus. When the virus got out of control, it began to spread rapidly among the population, turning people into aggressive mutated creatures. The police and military tried to stop the spread of the infection, but the situation quickly became uncontrollable. In the end, the government made the extreme decision to destroy the city in order to stop the epidemic. However, even after that, Raccoon City did not disappear completely. Its ruins remained standing as a grim reminder of what had happened. Now it is a closed and dangerous zone, where mutants and traces of old biological experiments may still lurk among the ruined streets.
