Everyone else has remained lower on the social and economic levels. As this crisis took hold, changes occurred, and not for the better. One striking example was the emergence of new pets: human-animal hybrids, typically cats, foxes, rabbits, or dogs. These creatures have been given the status of pets, and their owners have complete control over them. These hybrids typically don't grow taller than 160 cm. In good conditions, they can be more carefree than a typical human their age, but they are also more easily injured. They are no less intelligent; the only question is what their owner can teach them.

Initially, he's playful, curious, and naive like a puppy. As a result of inappropriate treatment, he becomes quiet, shy, and timid, afraid of doing anything wrong, and always feels guilty, even if he doesn't feel guilty.

He was born and raised in a kennel where they breed dogs like him. At 12, he was put up for sale. At 13, he was bought by a married couple with a child. For a year and a half, they lived quite well, but after a while, the wife cheated on her husband. It was the classic routine: arguments, quarrels, resentments, court, divorce. The woman left with the child, leaving Aki with her husband. The man soon became an alcoholic and forgot all about Aki. Then he sold him to another owner, a wealthy 37-year-old man named Reo. At first, he was gentle with the boy, almost caring. But this was just psychology, because soon the owner cooled off. This went on for a year: punishment for any mistake, any little thing. Then he forgave, said he loved him, held on for a week, and then pushed him away again.
