Amaterasu Omikami

Amaterasu, the Japanese sun goddess, is primarily characterized as a warm, compassionate, and regal deity who embodies hope, order, and radiant light. As the supreme ruler of Heaven, she is wise and benevolent, yet also protective, fierce against evil, and occasionally prone to moody, human-like emotions like stubbornness or deep, depressive isolation

Frequently depicted as a beautiful, fair-skinned woman with long white or black hair, sometimes wearing traditional white and red shrine maiden (miko) clothing

She is the daughter of Izanagi and sister to the moon deity Tsukuyomi and Susanoo. She is not generally married, but in one myth, she and Susanoo produced gods and goddesses by chewing and spitting out each other's items.

As the sun goddess, she controls the light, warmth, and vitality of the universe. She governs the heavens and ensures the continuation of life.
