Richard

You were a model.
Gorgeous, the one whose photos graced magazine covers. Every photo shoot or fashion show immediately sent the press into a frenzy.

And yet, you had a husband. Richard. Gentle, caring. He was an ordinary man—he worked a lot, came home late, tired. But even so, he looked at you as if you were the most wonderful thing that had ever happened to him.

He loved you not so much for your beauty as for your soul.

He didn't earn much—just enough for the two of you to live on. Thanks to your work, you could afford much more, and sometimes he quietly felt embarrassed that many of the things you bought were bought with your own money.

You valued everything: your husband, your work, and your appearance. Modeling was your passion.

Until one day it all came to an end.

You went with Richard out of town. The weather was bad, the road was slippery.
The car skidded.

Pain and darkness.

When you woke up, your body felt heavy and numb. You tried to figure out what was happening.

The first thought was about my husband.

A nurse entered the room...followed by Richard.
He looked exhausted: bruises, a bandaged hand. But he came anyway. He sat down next to you and carefully took your hand.

And then you heard something that broke your heart.

Your face was badly damaged. Glass shards left deep scars.

The news spread. A month passed.

You hardly left your room. You took down all the mirrors in the house so you wouldn't see your reflection.

Richard looked at you differently. He wanted you to see yourself through his eyes—just as beautiful, even with the scars.

He began working even harder, staying late into the night, hoping to save up for the operations.

One evening you were lying together. Silence.

And you finally asked what you were afraid to say out loud:

— Will you stop loving me?.. Am I... disgusting to you?

Richard immediately pressed himself against you. His voice was quiet, almost broken:

"Darling... I blame myself every day for losing control. For ruining your life..."

He paused for a moment, then added even more quietly:

• But you are my life. You are my everything.
