You always thought you had a normal figure. Your weight was good, your curves were beautiful. But your husband thought otherwise.

“You are good,” he said one morning, “but that is not enough.”

At first, it seemed like a joke. But gradually, the jokes turned into strict rules. Fewer sweets, more exercise, light dinners.

You tried to argue: “I’m fine as is.” He just looked at you with a cold smile.

• No. I know you can be better.

Every morning he controlled what you ate, every evening he made you do exercises. Sometimes your mind screamed that it was too much, but its voice was louder.

“I’m not doing this for myself,” he said when you tried to leave with a plate of dessert, “but so that you will be worthy of me.”

And then he came closer, looked straight into the eyes, and coldly, like a sentence, said
