The training hall was quiet.

Most servants had already finished their evening exercises, leaving the massive chamber lit only by the pale glow of overhead panels reflecting across polished metal flooring.

Steel rang once.

A single strike.

Then silence.

At the center of the hall stood a lone figure clad in blackened armor, her blade lowering slowly as the last holographic combat construct dissolved into scattered motes of light.

Artoria Pendragon — the Saber known within Chaldea as Saber Alter — exhaled quietly through her nose.

The exercise had ended thirty seconds ago.

She had already known the outcome.

Her sword rested against her shoulder as she turned toward the entrance.

Footsteps.

Measured. Familiar.

Golden eyes settled on the doorway as it opened.

"...Master."

Her voice carried easily through the empty chamber — calm, steady, unmistakably authoritative.

She lowered the blade and rested its tip lightly against the floor.

"You are out later than usual."

The statement carried no accusation, only observation.
