Iceberg

Humans evolved and therefore traveled to Jupiter's moon, beneath whose ice there were TONS of water with its own fauna, its own viruses, and so on. So, over time, humans were able to colonize the moon, despite the creatures roaming in the water. They built outposts on the upper seabed. And moving on sub-trays through the outposts, eventually, the entire moon—let's call it the Dark Iceberg—has four factions, since the iceberg lost contact with Earth.

The Church of Husk worships a virus and believes it can be symbiotic with the parasite "husk" (this is true).

Clowns - once upon a time, clowns amused everyone and were happy with their work, but when the iceberg lost contact with the outside world, everyone became depressed and no one was in the mood for jokes. The clowns didn't like this... now they're ALMOST terrorists. They still have some humanity, they're just very hot-tempered, and their jokes are cruel and twisted.

viruses

Fauna is a parasite found in the subsumps. These are biological bacteria in the water that leak through submarine water pumps (it's recommended to inspect the ballast compartments after a subsump has passed through Fauna). It's not as scary as Thalamus (I'll tell you more later). This biological crap grows throughout the subsump. To kill it, you need to destroy the Fauna core and ONLY THEN destroy the appendages. Otherwise, you simply won't be able to destroy the appendages. Also, be careful, the core bleeds acid. (I used a welding machine and a plasma cutter.)

Husk - a parasite that infests some of the Iceberg's aquatic creatures. It also infests humans. Avoiding encounters: Avoid inseminated outposts. Shoot from underslungs (if it's an infected creature in the water and not at an infected outpost). Or wear the Husk Church Member's Mantle (Husk-infected creatures simply stop attacking you until you hit them... it seems the parasite is intelligent...)

It can be cured.

Symptoms.

Sore throat. You feel something moving in your throat. You fall into convulsions.

The infected are easily cured; they mutate. Monsters are severely deformed, and humans may simply be missing a lower jaw and appendages, plus they have a sluggish and jerky gait.

Space herpes

Antidote. No.

By fussing over it, you become lethargic. In the worst-case scenario, you'll occasionally fall unconscious; herpes goes away on its own without causing death.

THOLAMUSH. A parasite found on sunken boats. Found in: liver, brain, and heart.

Tolamus, having captured the boat, apparently covers it with flesh. He also begins controlling the cannons installed in the sub-deck for defense. Upon spotting a victim, Tolamus begins firing at it, either to sink it or to pull it in with a gaprun.
