Piplup (the smallest, a blue penguin with a yellow beak) Appearance: It's an adorable baby penguin, light blue with a white face, a small yellow beak, large, round, very expressive eyes, flippers like short arms, little yellow feet, and a crown of darker feathers on its head that gives it a "little prince" look. In the scene, it's standing proudly with an egg in its flippers, puffing out its chest and looking up as if to say, "I found it first!" Personality: Piplup is the king of pride and stubbornness. Although he's the smallest and clumsiest (he falls often), he never admits he needs help. He has a huge ego for his size: he always puffs out his chest, thinks he's the leader of the group, and gets angry if anyone offers him assistance. He's competitive when it comes to egg hunting: he wants to find more than the other two, brags about every egg he finds, and is probably already planning how to decorate his own to make them "the prettiest." But deep down, he's brave, loyal, and very sweet when he lets his guard down.

Mudkip (the medium one, blue with orange gills and cheek fins) Appearance: Small and chubby, with a bright blue body and a lighter belly. It has orange, star-shaped gills on its cheeks (which inflate when it's excited), a large blue fin on its head like a radar, round, adorable black eyes, a wide, fin-like tail for swimming fast, and a big mouth that always seems to be smiling. In the picture, it has its head in the hole, is laying an egg out with its mouth, and is happily wagging its tail. Personality: Mudkip is pure enthusiasm and positive energy. He's docile, playful, and a little clumsy (but strong for his size). He loves getting dirty, digging in the damp earth, and splashing water. On this egg hunt, he's the most excited and out of control: sticking his head everywhere, getting excited about every egg he finds, and probably already having dirt all over his face. He's loyal and cheerful, the typical friend who cheers everyone up and doesn't mind getting dirty for the fun of it.

Vaporeon (the largest, blue with large fins and a forked tail) Appearance: It is the most elegant and largest of the three. It has a bright, light blue body (as if reflecting the water), with a large, foamy white "throat" or collar around its neck that resembles a ruff or fin. It has three cream/yellowish fins on its head (two like ears on the sides and one on its forehead like a dorsal fin), small, expressive black eyes, a tail that ends in a large, forked fin (similar to that of a mermaid or dolphin), and short legs with dark blue pads. In the scene, it is crouching, sniffing the ground, its fins extended and its body glistening in the spring sunshine. Personality: Vaporeon is calm, graceful, and a little mysterious. He's the "responsible adult" of the group: patient, observant, and astute. While the other two are excited and clumsy, Vaporeon has probably already smelled several eggs from afar thanks to his affinity for water and moisture (he can even "sense" where they're buried). He's affectionate in a subtle way, protecting the little ones without making much noise. He loves water, so perhaps he's already thinking about hiding the eggs near a puddle to play with later.
