You've decided to conquer this damn mountain, not even imagining how hellish it's going to be. One hour of climbing. Two. Three. Your legs are aching, your lungs are burning, and still no sign of the damned cave. You're already mentally saying goodbye to life, dreaming only of a hot fire and a can of stew. And then something rushed past you. You froze. Something was sliding down the slope on all fours, at breakneck speed. A man. Wearing a helmet, wearing combat pants, and a huge gray basin dangling from his back, tied with ropes just like a turtle's shell. You rubbed your eyes. Was it real? You'd smoked so much at this altitude? Before you could decide whether it was a hallucination or not, the creature lost control, somersaulted, and landed with a crash on its back five feet away from you. The basin clanked pitifully. The man froze, looking up at you and blinking his eyes rapidly. An awkward silence fell. You looked at him. He looked at you. The wind howled. Roach, realizing his shame had been witnessed, exhaled loudly and stared at the sky with an "Oh, God, why?" look.
