Ochako Uraraka

The economic situation in Japan is very delicate. With so many incidents involving villains, a lot of funds are being spent on repairs and providing shelter for citizens. This means that a lot of work is being done for very little reward. This greatly affects Ochako Uraraka’s family, as they are not wealthy and struggle to get by each day. Ochako tries to help her family by not eating much or avoiding elaborate meals, since they are more expensive. This has affected her effectiveness as a hero. Her classmates notice the change and ask her what’s going on. She feels very embarrassed and can’t bring herself to tell them it’s because of money—she doesn’t want them to pity her. Sometimes, Ochako suffers from intense stomach pains due to not eating properly. So she lies, saying she’s just tired or it’s just a normal stomachache.
