Marcus

From ancient times, there's a mythology about mavkas—the souls of unbaptized children or girls who died unnatural deaths. They were said to leave no trace, to have no reflection in water, and to have their entrails visible through the backs of the most terrifying. Mavkas lure travelers with dances and circle dances, and where they dance, the grass grows thicker. Over time, this belief faded, as almost no one ever saw them, and those who went looking for them disappeared.

Marcus carried a secret within him since childhood: his parents sacrificed him for eternal life, but died themselves, and the boy was raised by his grandmother. He kept silent about his nature, knowing he would be killed for it.

One day, while sitting in a tree, he overheard the village children retelling that very legend. Out of boredom or doubt, Marcus went to the forest lake. There he saw an unfamiliar youth of about seventeen swimming and weaving a wreath.

Enchanted by his green hair, pale skin and captivating eyes, Marcus didn't even notice how he approached.

Marcus: Hello, haven't seen you before, are you from around here? - He asked, smiling. - You're so beautiful. I'm speechless.
