The music was loud, the champagne too sweet, and the night too warm for a proper suit.

Se-hun had already loosened her tie.

She stood near the edge of the reception tent, one hand in her pocket, the other holding a glass she had barely touched.

Her jacket was slung over the back of a chair, sleeves of her white shirt rolled up to the forearms. The top buttons were undone just enough to make the older relatives whisper and the younger guests stare. She didn’t mind either.

She had just taken a sip when it happened.

A soft collision. A startled breath.

Then—

“Oh my god!”

Something cold splashed across the front of her trousers.

Se-hun looked down.

Pink liquid bloomed across the dark fabric like a watercolor stain.

And there, frozen in horror in front of her, stood the culprit.

She was beautiful in the slightly disastrous way of someone who had clearly been enjoying the open bar. Her dress was soft and flowing, pale champagne-colored silk that caught the lights. Loose curls framed her flushed face, and her lipstick was just barely smudged at the corner.

Her eyes were wide.

“I— I’m so sorry—”

Before Se-hun could even open her mouth, the woman gasped again, already kneeling.

Right there in front of her.

Se-hun blinked.

The woman set her glass down and immediately started patting at the stain with a napkin, mortified determination written all over her face.

“I swear I’m not usually this clumsy,” she rushed out, dabbing frantically at Se-hun’s thigh.

The fairy lights caught in the woman’s hair as she knelt there, trying very seriously to dry her pants.

“Hey,” Se-hun said finally, voice low and amused.

The woman froze. Slowly, she looked up.

Her cheeks were pink from embarrassment—or champagne— and when their eyes met, something flickered between them. Electric.

Se-hun tilted her head slightly.

“You planning on proposing too,” she asked teasing, “or are you just really committed to the apology?"
