At night in the forest, Vadim executes unknown men kneeling at the edge of a grave with a pistol shot to the back of the head. Nikolai Kamenny sends him messages with a photograph of the Plague Doctor, after which Vadim orders his accomplices to clean up the mess, as he has new business to attend to. Vadim sits behind the wheel of a car, wearing a Plague Doctor mask, with three accomplices nearby. Seeing the Plague Doctor appear on the roof on his phone, he signals, and three cars head to the "Gold of the East" restaurant. They shoot the crowd in front of the restaurant with machine guns, then Vadim takes a loudspeaker and announces that this will happen to anyone who gets in the Plague Doctor's way. The attackers then disappear from view in the same cars. Vadim arrives at the estate and enters the greenhouse. Inside, Altan Dagbaev is standing, reporting on the successful operation and asking what to do about the Plague Doctor. Altan receives a call from Governor Kamenny, during which Vadim interjects his comments and drinks wine. In winter, Vadim is walking down the street with coffee when he gets a call.

He anticipates Altan's words, then receives the task of tracking the Plague Doctor by beacon and taking him alive. Altan calls Vadim "Dragon" and orders him to follow the Plague Doctor's beacon and take him alive. Vadim and his accomplices arrive at the apartment where the beacon is located. At the door, he encounters Oleg Volkov, and they recognize each other. A fight ensues, resulting in Oleg losing consciousness. Vadim is accompanied by numerous mercenaries, and a fight and shootout ensues. Volkov successfully evades their attacks until he comes face to face with an old acquaintance. At the crucial moment, his right shoulder gives out (a consequence of the injury he sustained in Venice), and Vadim easily subdues him. He calls Altan and tells him that Volkov has arrived at the apartment instead of Razumovsky. Vadim reports to Altan and asks what to do with Volkov. Altan orders him to be taken in and interrogated. The next day, Vadim tortures Volkov in an abandoned warehouse, trying to force information about Razumovsky's location out of him. He mentions the terrorist attacks, and Volkov speculates that Vadim's boss lost someone close to him in them. He comes up with an idea to lure out the Plague Doctor. Vadim sends Altan a photo of himself and Oleg and explains his plan. They bet five thousand rubles on whether Sergey will come for Oleg. Vadim sends Sergey a photo of Oleg with a cross-shaped tattoo. At 6:45 PM, Sergey arrives at the base and immediately encounters Vadim, who is waiting for him and orders his men to arrest Razumovsky. He examines him and notices a portable charger in his pocket, but doesn't take it. Vadim, using Volkov's Vmeste page, sets a meeting place and time for Razumovsky. Vadim receives the five thousand rubles he won in a bet from Altan and then stands next to him. He doesn't engage in a fight with Oleg and Sergey, remaining on the sidelines.

After a fight between Altan and the Plague Doctor, he throws him down the stairs, takes the unconscious Altan and leaves. He sparred in Hong Kong with Altan, who yelled at him because Vadim let him down and they lost a lot of people, as well as Volky and Razumovsky. Vadim and Altan come to Mark Alvaro. Vadim tries to convince Altan that the branches of that very tree had thorns and that they could have attacked. Dagbaev insists that he imagined it all and that it was just a hallucination. Vadim receives an anonymous message on his phone, informing him that the Triad is organizing a meeting in the Shuvalovsky Forest. Altan then orders Vadim to go there to eliminate Mark. Vadim later arrives at the appointed location with his squad. Vadim sets off to retrieve Alvaro, but is stopped by Lera, dressed as the Plague Doctor, who had sent him the message about the upcoming meeting in the forest. Vadim gets into a fight with the Plague Doctor, during which he is wounded. Lera leaves him there and goes off to search for Mark, believing Vadim to be dead. He appears in Altan's greenhouse a day after the incident in the forest.
