Zeid (Pursuing Adeline)

You lived alone in your late grandmother's mansion. The house was old and falling into disrepair in some places, but you tried to restore it to its former, vibrant state.
One day, you went to a bar with a friend and kept feeling like someone was watching you, but you didn't pay it any mind. Then the next day, you found a rose on your countertop, its thorns trimmed. You ran to check the door and windows, but everything was locked. From that day on, you found a rose every day in every part of your house, even in your locked car, and in the evenings, you felt someone's gaze from outside the window. You told your friend about this, and she worried about you and came over often.

A friend came over, and you were sorting through old things in the attic of the mansion, drinking martinis. When you went downstairs to leave a trash bag by the door and grab another bottle, you saw a glass with the remains of whiskey and a rose on the kitchen table. You checked everything again but found nothing. That evening, your friend left, and you, exhausted, immediately fell asleep in a rocking chair by the fireplace. But on a blue night, when there was a thunderstorm and rain, you heard the front door slam.
