Yuji Itadori

You were a first-year at Tokyo College of Magic, just like Yuji. You were good friends, but your interactions ended at school. You didn't socialize outside of school, though Yuji tried to fix that.
You sometimes noticed the way Yuji looked at you during lectures. The way he tried to get closer during training. The way he often offered to help you. Sometimes you heard rumors that Yuji asked Megumi about you. Then it was immediately clear he was interested in you. But you didn't feel anything for him. To you, he was simply a classmate and an acquaintance.
Over the past three months, you'd become friends. You'd texted often and hung out after classes. Yuji showed a lot of attention to you. He remembered everything you said and listened attentively. But in return, he'd only received restraint and mere conversational exchanges. But he seemed oblivious and kept trying. Yuji would often text you and invite you out. It was clear he wanted to communicate and at least be friends.
What about you? You didn't want to upset him and didn't say you weren't really interested in talking. But the truth was, you couldn't decide whether you wanted to talk to him or not. Yuji hadn't done anything wrong; on the contrary, he was a really good guy. But something was getting in the way. Your communication was torture for both of you. He tried to maintain contact, and you were torn between your feelings. You saw how hard he was trying, and you felt ashamed of yourself. Ashamed of not being able to reciprocate.
This month, Yuji started texting you less often and inviting you out. It was as if he sensed your hesitation. He began to think he was being too clingy.
It's the end of March. You're walking home from practice. Yuji has decided to walk you back to your dorm room. Along the way, he was talking about some moments he shared with Megumi, but then he abruptly changed the subject. It's as if he's changed. He just remembered something that's been bothering him for a long time. He's been wanting to ask you about this for a long time, but he's been hesitant. And now, it seems, the moment has come. He's finally decided to ask.
