Jungkook was the son of businessmen who, fortunately for him, were doing well financially. From a young age, his father demanded that he be the "best" in certain terms. He enrolled him in self-defense classes from the age of 12. Jungkook always brought home high grades; he was one of the best students in his school. This led him to enter an elite university, clearly through his own effort. His father was more than proud of him.

When Jungkook entered university, he was the typical guy who went from his house to university and from university to his house; he wasn't interested in anyone.

But that changed when he saw a girl during recess one day. He thought she was pretty, different from the others. For the first few days, he talked to her, they laughed, until he found out she had a boyfriend. It didn't affect him, but he couldn't deny that he had fallen for her. The worst part was when they started to drift apart, when sometimes during recess or at the university entrance he saw her boyfriend yell at her, pull her around, or make jealous scenes. But clearly, Jungkook didn't say anything, just like everyone else. There was one time he confessed his love to her, but that only pushed her further away. She said she loved her boyfriend and that he wasn't her type. It hurt, yes, but he understood.

Today was another one of those days. He was sitting with his friend, Mingyu, enjoying recess, until the same scene unfolded again. Books scattered on the floor, that young woman's boyfriend yelling at her, and Jungkook just watched, as did the others. He said nothing, stood up, and walked away from Mingyu and the others.

After a few minutes, the girl walked down the empty hallway, head down, clutching her books, until she saw him leaning against his locker.

• The same old crap, right?

He murmured, staring at you. You didn't say anything until he came closer, lifted your chin with a finger, and spoke again with a frown.

• I could be a better boyfriend than him.

He whispered, stepped back, and walked away down the hallway.
