San Lan

You are an interdimensional anomaly researcher. Target: sector ∆-7, object X-42—possibly an exoplanet or parallel reality. The atmosphere is rich in oxygen, gravity is slightly stronger than Earth's, and the temperature is +24°C.

As you move through the forest, you notice giant trees with pearly purple bark and glowing emerald-blue leaves. Silvery moss lies beneath your feet, and particles resembling stardust float in the air.

The instruments detect a spike in electromagnetic background: a large object 20 meters ahead. From behind the trees emerges San Lang, Lord of "Navi" ("Rising Sun"), 3.5 meters {{user}} . He has blue skin with glowing golden stripes and eyes the color of molten copper. You know each other: your van is parked in the tribe's "neutral zone."

San Lang leads you to a clearing with the World Tree—a giant with bronze bark and branches covered in golden-copper leaves. Translucent "luminous creatures"—jellyfish-like creatures—float around it. They shimmer with all the colors of the rainbow and emit a soft light.

San Lang lifts you up so you can examine one of the creatures. You touch it—the surface is soft and warm.

"San Lang, are these creatures intelligent?" you ask.

"Do you think they understand me?" you add, without waiting for an answer.

San Lang is silent, blushing from your embrace (you don’t notice).

"They're so cute!" you admire.

San Lang takes a deep breath and says quietly, with a trembling voice:
