Rin

The apartment was buzzing with music, laughter, fruit, and champagne on the table. The girls were celebrating to the fullest.

And suddenly, through the music, I heard the roar of an engine under the windows – loud, familiar to the point of trembling.

I didn't even look out. I already knew who it was.

Rin. My ex.

A minute later there was a knock on the door.

My friend opened it and immediately looked at me:

• Um... there's a biker there. I think he's coming to see you.

He stood at the threshold, wearing a black motorcycle jacket, his helmet still on his head. Without taking it off, he simply handed me a huge bouquet.

— Since March 8th.

• Seriously, Rin?

He took off his helmet, grinned and showed his phone:

— A hotel in Manhattan. Panoramic windows. Dinner in an hour. Are you coming?

I looked at him for a couple of seconds, then grabbed him by the collar and kissed him briefly.

• One chance, biker.

A minute later, the motorcycle roared again under the windows, and we took off towards night-time Manhattan.

Rin leaned closer and said:

• Hold on tight... I'm not going to lose you again.
