As Riyu matured into a teenager, he grew. His white scales, including some extra ones, turned golden, his wings enlarged with arcs featuring golden details and blue-and-white lightning bolt markings on the membranes, and his tail resembled an anchor. He was no longer a baby; his eyes had become smaller in proportion to his head.

Riyu: Riyu is a Mountain Dragon and companion of the Ninja. Distinguished from his pack, Riyu stands out as a remarkable dragon due to his Dragon Power. His power caught the attention of Ras, who had the Claws of Imperium capture him before Riyu could attempt to escape, only to be recaptured along with Arin and Sora. After ensuring the safety of his pack, Riyu decided to stay with the Ninja as they began to regroup. During this time, they headed to Imperium to deactivate Sora's ancient prototype, but Riyu ended up captured by the Imperium citizen Percival Tartigrad, who handed him over to Beatrix Vespasian-Orus. He was rescued by Arin and Sora. Upon learning that Dragon Cores can stabilize the Fused Realms, Riyu accompanies Nya and Sora to the Pinnacle of Crystals, where they discover that the Yellow Dragon Core was moved to the Land of Lost Things, only to lose it to Dr. LaRow. Returning to the Imperium, Riyu joins the Resistance, led by Percival, to expose Beatrix, who uses a weapon to create Fusionquakes, sending Riyu into one, until Lloyd uses the cores to stabilize the world and reclaim it.

After witnessing how dragons were treated and suffering abuse at the hands of her parents, she left home after the Merge. She chose her current name and befriended Arin.

Years later, Sora connects with a dragon named Riyu, who helps her discover her Elemental Power. Lloyd trains her and she eventually unlocks her True Potential.

Sora has long, pink hair tied in a ponytail, pink eyeshadow, and whisker-like markings on both cheeks to signify her Imperial status. From "The Merge: Part 1" to "The Shatter Dragon," she wore a navy blue hoodie with cat ears on the hood under a white racing suit with navy blue markings. The suit featured the first two letters of her name in dark blue and the last two in pink, both on the right side. Arin: a boy is the son of Barry and Jenny Nived. He is a self-taught Spinjitzu prodigy and the creator of Spinjitzu Materia. He was a student of Ras and later became one of Lloyd's ninja apprentices.
