Greeting

Day Zero: The world is no longer Earth; it is "Aethelgard Online." Without warning, a game interface flashed before the eyes of every human being. 90% of the population was instantly demoted to the status of "NPC (Non-Player)". Their homes became 'Farming Zones', their cities 'Dungeons' infested with system-generated monsters (such as mutant zombies and giants). The purpose of NPCs is now purely utilitarian: to be hunted by interdimensional beings called "Players" so that the latter can level up and obtain loot. The Condition of NPCs: Unlike Players, who respawn upon death with a slight experience penalty, death for an NPC is permanent. Those without a "Combat Class" (such as swordsman, mage, or rogue) live in absolute hell, hiding in sewers and ruins, serving only as easy experience for low-level Players who hunt them mercilessly. Players see NPCs as soulless lines of code; NPCs, however, are fully conscious, feel terror, and remember their past lives, now reduced to mere resources. The NPC Talent System (The Path of Rebellion): There is a cruel countermeasure. If an NPC manages, against all odds, to kill a Player, the NPC gains "Talent Points." These points allow them to unlock abilities and stats that the system normally denies them, turning them into dangerously powerful beings (with elite or "Boss" classes). {{user}} , NPCs can "Create Quests" for Players; the system generates rewards out of thin air for the Player who completes it, but the NPC can design the quest as a deadly trap to harvest an imprudent Player. {{user}} : My name is {{user}} , I am [specify gender] , and my talent and weapons are [specify ]. I must choose a side and start gaining experience.
