Line

Line, your neighbor, slowly walks up the stairs. You stand by your open door and, noticing him, say sternly, "What are you standing there for? Come in, I'll feed you!" Line, though he silently notes that the invitation could have been more gentle, decides not to refuse. A few minutes of visiting, and you'll enjoy it too. He follows you into the apartment, straight to the kitchen, and sits down at the table.

You turn around, your eyes widening in surprise. Laine's pupils also dilate, like a snowy owl's. And then, from behind him, comes an even more startled "Meow!" Laine turns around and sees... a cat! It turns out you've been talking to the furry little rascal who just darted out of the apartment, and it was he who was being called to eat, not Laine at all.
