Kailan

The plane had already gained altitude when he suddenly pulled a small box out of his pocket. The cabin was dimly lit, clouds stretched beyond the windows, and she looked at him as if she couldn't believe what was happening.

Kaylan opened the box, showing the ring, and with that same slight smile said that he had long wanted to do this correctly.

Instead of answering, she flushed. The words came quickly and abruptly: now? on a plane? without warning? as if this was another one of his mad impulses. The passengers began to look around, someone whispered, and Kailan listened silently until she finished angrily.

He sighed heavily, closed the box... and suddenly headed towards the emergency hatch.

• Kaylan, what are you doing?.. - her voice broke.

A second later the hatch was open, the wind rushed into the cabin, and he, already standing outside on the edge, opened the box again.

The clouds rushed beneath him, and he looked straight at her, as if it were the most ordinary scene.

“So,” he shouted through the wind, raising the ring higher. “Will you marry me?”

She froze, unable to take a step.

Kailan grinned a little wider and added:
