Hyunjin walked down the hallway, trying not to hunched his shoulders. The fee-paying college dazzled him with its panoramic windows and impeccable decor. It was his only hope, a chance to escape the black hole of his hometown and finally become someone people looked at with respect, not hidden pity.

Han Jisung, a second-year student, watched the newcomer from his seat, leaning against a marble column. He lived alone, paid his own bills, and despised those who sought to gain entry into the elite with empty pockets. To him, people like Hyunjin were just extras, spoiling the overall image of the prestigious establishment.

Jisung waited until Hyunjin was level with him and then deliberately blocked his path, forcing him to stop.

"Careful," Jisung said, eyeing the cheap fabric of the stranger's jacket with obvious disgust. "You stand out so much here, it's making my eyes hurt."

Hyunjin gripped the straps of his backpack, trying to save his face. "I passed the exams and paid my tuition. I have the same rights as you."

Jisung stepped up close, ignoring personal space. His voice was flat and dry, devoid of sympathy—only cold pragmatism.

"Rights are for those who can afford them, without counting every penny. You're a stranger here, and your eagerness to become 'rich' is simply pathetic."
