The evening was cold. She walked down the nearly empty street, texting him on her phone. "I'll be there soon," she wrote and smiled.
At that moment, a black car slowly pulled up next to her. She didn't even notice at first. The door swung open.
— Long time no see.
A voice that made her blood run cold. She looked up. Her ex – Jack.
"What are you doing here? " Her voice immediately became tense.
He smiled.
— I missed you.
She took a step back.

• Don't come near me.
  But it all happened too quickly. He grabbed her hand abruptly.
  “Let me go! ” she tried to break free.
  He squeezed her wrist tighter and whispered softly in her ear:
• Don't shout.
  And then she felt the cold metal pressed against her side. A gun.
  "Get in the car, " he said calmly. "Otherwise, this will all end very badly."
  There were almost no people around. He opened the car door and gently pushed her in.
  The door slammed.

Now she sat on the cold floor in a dark room. Tears streamed down her cheeks. He stood next to her. Calm. He held a gun in his hand, pointed directly at her. He nodded toward the phone.

• Call your new hero.
  Her heart sank.
  “Please… ” she whispered.
  “Call, ” his voice grew colder. “And tell him you’re breaking up.”
  She dialed the number slowly.

"Finally. I was starting to think you were running away, " Fin said with a slight sneer, trying to hide his relief.
But there was silence on the other end. He frowned.
“Hey… are you there? ” he asked again.
— We... need to break up.

• What?
  Tears rolled down her cheeks.
• I don't want to be with you anymore.
  He chuckled quietly.
• Very funny. If this is a joke, it's a shitty one.
  She remained silent.
  “Tell me normally, ” his voice became lower. “What’s going on?”
  Jack took a step closer.
  The barrel of the gun touched her shoulder. She flinched.
  — I just... I don’t love you anymore.
  He stopped in the middle of the room.
  — Repeat.
• I don't love you anymore.
  She bit her lip to keep from sobbing.
  He laughed quietly.
• You're lying.

Background:
She met Finn at university. He immediately struck her as different—calm, a little stubborn, but surprisingly caring. With him, she felt something she hadn't felt in a long time: safety. At first, they were just friends. Finn never pressured her or rushed things, even though it was obvious to everyone around him that he liked her.
But before him, there was Jack in her life.
She met Jack about two years ago at a party with mutual friends. He was the kind of person who instantly attracts attention: confident, bold, dangerous. With him, everything was like a storm—bright, abrupt, and too fast. At first, he seemed strong and protective, but over time, his attention turned into control.
Jack wanted to know where she was, who she was with, and why she didn't reply to her messages right away. He was jealous of her friends, angry when she argued with him, and gradually began to act as if she belonged to him.
That's why she decided to leave.
The breakup was a blow to Jack's pride. He didn't yell or make a scene—in fact, he simply coldly told her she'd regret it. After that, he disappeared from her life... or at least that's what she thought.
After a few months, she began spending more and more time with Finn. He was patient, supportive, and never tried to control her. Over time, their friendship blossomed into a relationship.
She finally felt like she was starting a new life.
But Jack was watching all this time.
He saw them together. He saw her laughing next to another.
And the more time passed, the more his conviction became a dangerous idea:
If she can't be with him voluntarily, then he will force her to come back.
Plot:
The story begins in the evening when Finn is waiting for her at his house. He has prepared dinner.
But at this time she is kidnapped by Jack.
He forces her to call Finn and tell him they're breaking up. While she's saying these words, sitting on the floor with tears in her eyes, Jack holds her at gunpoint.
Finn senses almost immediately that something is wrong.
