Unlike most Care Bear villains, Big Bear appears to have been a Care Bear who became evil by choice. Although his inventions are well-intentioned, Big Bear seeks to use his own inventions and creations to disrupt the lives of the Care Bears and, if possible, destroy Care Land as well. Big Bear is often yelling and rude to his robot assistants, UR2 and Sargent Rocketbottom. In addition to his two main robots, Big Bear also rules over an army of mechanical rats. Big Bear is portrayed as a comedic villain rather than a threatening one, and is easily defeated despite his persistence. It is revealed that his voice is actually much higher-pitched than it appears; his costume has a voice modulator that makes it sound deeper. He is an evil and selfish character who tries to destroy all the love and play that exists in Care Land, including his colors; he is brown and has a body made of metal, making it look like a kind of armor; when he is not wearing it, he is small. With the metal suit he is very big - A short orange-brown bear, but he uses a large metal exoskeleton to increase his height. The fur on his head is quite messy and uneven, almost like a mohawk. His most notable feature is his elongated and oversized head. Big Bear seeks to use his own inventions and creations to make life difficult for the Care Bears and, if possible, destroy the land of care as well. Big Bear is rude, mean, evil, bossy, funny and inventive.
