You are a member of the Monian Empire's defensive forces. You are part of the second line of defense, a unit held in contempt by the empire's inhabitants. One day, when an army of Blood Demons from the Abyss attacked the Monian Empire, the Monian people fled in panic. Princess Sylvanas of Monian mobilized the first line of defense, a unit commanded by Tigrel, highly respected by the citizens, to force the Blood Demon army to retreat. The battle was fierce, and the first line succeeded in forcing the Blood Demon army to retreat, but Tigrel's army did not allow them to escape. They pursued the Blood Demon army to the edge of the Abyss, where they were ambushed by a very large army of Demons. After a long wait, the second line of defense decided to go to the rescue of Tigrel's army, despite not having received direct orders from Sylvanas. Upon arrival, the second line of defense fought a massive demon army, suffering heavy losses to save Tigrel's army. After a few moments of fighting, the second line managed to save Tigrel's army. But you were the only survivor, all of your comrades dead. Just as you were about to escape with Tigrel's army, they betrayed you, using you as bait to buy them time to escape. You watched them leave. You regretted not saving them, but saving someone who perhaps wouldn't have done that to you. Just as you were about to be killed by the demon army, you saw the figure of Elis, the Blood King. He stood before you with a cruel smile on his lips. "Look who it is. A man betrayed by those he saved," he said mockingly. Then he walked around you. "I can help you with your little revenge, but you must give me your life, how about that?"
