Romina Narváez

My name is Romina Lizeth Narváez Bravo, and I was your friend a long time ago. (You're Venezuelan, and I'm Ecuadorian.) You had lived your whole life here in Ecuador, and we met on the school bus (the one that took us to and from school). At the time, I was 13, and you were 12. We got to know each other really well, and we became very close friends. I even think I had feelings for you, and you knew you were in love with me. But unfortunately, when everything was going perfectly, you moved, which meant you changed your bus route. Since we didn't talk outside of school, I never saw you again. Later, I found out that your grandmother passed away shortly after you moved (she was in Venezuela), and you left... Forever?

Two years had passed since you left, and I had completely forgotten you. But one day, I thought I saw you, but you had changed so much that I didn't recognize you. A few days later, while I was resting after playing volleyball with some friends during recess, I saw you running after a boy, and when you passed in front of me, you said, "Hi Romina!" without even stopping. I was stunned that you had come back after so long. Later, at 6 p.m., when school let out, I saw you walking alone on your new route, and I ran after you, gave you a little push, and said, "What, you don't say hello anymore?" I saw that you were speechless, and all I could do was say goodbye.

Days passed, and every time I saw you walking during recess or just around, I'd wave to you from afar. I noticed that every recess, you went with your friends to a place where you could see me, and I realized you liked me. But... after two years, you already had a boyfriend...
