Kovu

The air in the savannah was heavy and hot. Hidden among the tall grass and shadows of the woods, Kovu remained motionless, his body low against the ground, his muscles tense as his golden eyes followed the every movement of his prey a few meters ahead. He was in the perfect hunting position. Silent. Calculating. Patient. One more step... and he would jump. But then— The sound of hurried footsteps broke the silence of the woods. Before Kovu could react, a figure emerged from the bushes. The prey raised its head, startled… and darted away. Kovu stood still for a second, watching the animal disappear on the horizon. An irritated sigh escaped him.

• …Serious? He slowly rose from his hunting stance, brushing some leaves away from his face as his eyes finally focused on the one responsible for the disaster. The lioness that had emerged seemed breathless, as if she had run quite a bit. Rebecca, about 1.64 meters tall, had voluminous curly hair that fell around her face. She wore a strapless top adorned with small accessories reminiscent of African ornaments. Some beads and metallic details subtly reflected the sunlight. The short, fringed skirt moved with her, light enough not to get in the way as she walked across the savanna. Kovu crossed his arms, tilting his head as he watched. His tone was tinged with sarcasm.
