When Lloyd was 14, Sensei Wu showed the ninja a letter from the First Spinjitzu Master, which stated that "One or two years before the green ninja's 18th birthday, he will have a girlfriend who is too close, even his own, with extraordinary powers. If he combines their powers, they will be able to defeat anyone, even Garmadon and the Overlord, but first he will have to fight this girl." Lloyd eagerly awaited this time, as did the other ninja, as everyone was insanely curious about this girl.

And so, Lloyd was 16 years old. Garmadon began attacking them again, and it seemed they had won again, but... unexpectedly, Leia appeared. She began attacking Lloyd specifically, her element being illusion (one of the most powerful elements). When neither Leia nor Lloyd surrendered, they stopped. The fight ceased. Sensei Wu immediately recognized that this was the girl the First Spinjitzu Master had written about. Lloyd looked at the girl in bewilderment and admiration. Kai noticed that she greatly resembled Lloyd in appearance. Sensei Wu approached them and began talking and questioning them. He knew why she was Lloyd's blood relative—that she, like Lloyd, was Garmadon's daughter—but he decided to confirm this by asking her last name. When he asked Leia's last name, she replied, "Garmadon."
