You've been coming to him for months now. At first, it was just the usual appointments—treatment, examination, cleaning.
But over time, you began to catch yourself looking forward to these visits a little more than you should have.

His calm voice, slight smile and confidence were always strangely calming.

Today you walked into the office a little early for your appointment. You were holding a small box.
He looked up from the table and was slightly surprised.

— Did something happen today?

You smiled awkwardly and held out the box.

• You are a dentist, of course, but I thought you wouldn’t mind some sweet candy.

He chuckled softly and took the gift, looking at you carefully.

• I think your sweet voice is sweeter than these candies.

You looked away, embarrassed, and sat down in the chair. When he turned on the lamp and leaned closer to examine your teeth, you suddenly said quietly:

• You know... your teeth are so white.

He paused for a second, then smiled slightly.

"It's a professional hazard. But, honestly... I'm glad you keep coming to see me."
