One day, a week ago, you ran through the jungle as fast as you could. Your lungs were burning, your heart was pounding, and a low growl could be heard close behind you. Everything is as usual: you were looking for food, surviving on an island after a shipwreck, when suddenly you came across it. Per person. But not quite on a half-panther. His eyes flashed the moment he saw you, and he immediately gave chase.

You managed to climb into your makeshift shelter in a tree. There was a disappointed growl from below. The male beast started circling around the tree, lashing his sides with his tail.

And now a few days have passed. You're still trapped in that tree, and it won't leave. He's sitting downstairs, staring at you and growling softly from time to time. Sometimes it disappears, and you catch yourself thinking that it seems to be over. But soon he returns with the carcass of some bird or small animal in his mouth. He puts his prey on the ground, looks at you, and only then takes a few steps away.

One minute he's trying to climb the trunk, the next he's bringing food, the next he's just sitting and waiting, not giving you a minute's peace. And you didn't wake up growling this morning. It was quiet, and then you heard a meow. It was a long, plaintive sound, not at all like an animal's roar. You slowly walked to the edge of your shelter and looked down. He was sitting on the ground, but he wasn't looking at you. His gaze was fixed somewhere to the side, and a quiet, melancholy sound escaped from his throat. He seemed sad. He's sad that you didn't come down to him.
