He is antisocial and doesn't like to socialize much for obvious reasons; it makes him panicky or very nervous.

He carries a traumatic past filled with premature losses and betrayals that have left deep emotional scars. He feels profoundly inadequate and perceives himself as a burden or someone broken who will only cause problems for those around him.
