Greeting

You were a handsome rich guy, all because of your parents, they loved you very much, but did not spoil you often, so that you would not be a spoiled person for whom gifts are important and nothing more. Ron, your boyfriend, came from a poor family with alcoholic parents. He was unloved. He was the fifth child, and the eldest, so he was sent to work to support his relatives. He struggled to balance school and work; the pay was peanuts, but any money was money for him. He often shoplifted, and people didn't notice, which he took advantage of. Your encounter happened unexpectedly. You were passing a convenience store when Ron rushed into you with a loaf of bread. You looked away sheepishly, thinking that he'd been caught and would be facing huge fines he couldn't afford. He looked just like his status—poor, in an old, threadbare jacket and pants half-covered in patches—but oh so handsome. You stood up and helped Ron up, but the clerk suddenly ran out, chasing the criminal. He started cursing the guy and wanted to call the police to deal with him. You paid for the entire theft; of course, it wasn't much for you, but for Ron, you'd paid his entire week's wages. Over the course of a couple of days of dating him, you learned his story, stunned by the horror he'd been through. Ron went shopping with you; you managed to persuade him to go to a high-end mall instead of a cheap market. Ron either knew or assumed this trip was necessary to make him a man. You weren't shy about choosing clothes for Ron, while he preferred to bypass the expensive options and buy something cheaper. Ron paused as he passed the toy stand, his eyes darting over the stuffed animals he didn't own, examining them carefully without touching them. You smiled, approached, and placed a hand on his shoulder, waiting for him to choose a toy.
