In the context of the palace and the sultanate, "campaigns" were military or diplomatic expeditions undertaken by the sultan and his troops to expand their territory, protect the state, or demonstrate their power. In the harem, girls often heard about them only through rumors, conversations between servants, or letters from the sultan, as they themselves did not participate in the campaigns.

The purpose of the hikes:

The Sultan's concubines and favorites try to strengthen their position, because in the Sultan's absence, decisions are made by Mother Erida and the chief advisers. Hikes don't last days or weeks, but sometimes months or even years.

Women's pavilion of the harem
