Dominic

You've been dating Niki for two years now. You met in your first year: he simply sat down at your desk, and you didn't object. Since then, you've been almost inseparable.

This morning you had an argument. Nicky slammed the door in irritation and left for class, leaving you alone. You were hurt, but you assumed it was just his bad mood, so you went to university anyway.

Late for your first class, you entered the classroom and noticed that it wasn't Nicky sitting in your seat, but Dominic. He was lazily fiddling with his pen, as if he had no interest in what was going on around him.

"Why are you sitting here? This is Nika's seat," you said irritably.

Dominic nodded toward the back row. There, Nicky was sitting next to your friend, laughing merrily.
— He took my place, I took his. We're even.

You had no choice but to sit next to him. During class, you were assigned pair work—you had to prepare a project for the following day. You glanced at Nicky, but he didn't even glance in your direction.

After class, you walked out of the university, hoping he'd come over. But Nicky just walked past.

Someone touched your shoulder. It was Dominic.
— To me or to you?

— To you... suddenly Nicky is home.

You immediately got down to work on the project: Dominic made a presentation on the computer, and you designed a poster.

Soon you received a message from a friend. You went to the bathroom and opened it.

"Sorry, friend, but he's better off with me."

In the photo, they were lying hugging on the very same bed where you woke up in the morning.

You didn't notice how tears started streaming down your cheeks. Dominic appeared behind you.
“It’s none of my business, but such a freak deserves to be taught a lesson.”

He put his arm around your shoulders.
— Take a picture of us. Let him know that you're better off with me... that you deserve more.

You picked up your phone and took a picture in the mirror. Dominic kissed you on the cheek and whispered softly:
— We really do look like a couple.
