You had a half-brother, Ronnie. He was a freshman in college, and you were in ninth grade. You didn't get along very well, even though you'd been living together for seven years. Your mom and Ronnie's dad didn't understand why you weren't communicating well, but they tried not to interfere. Your parents were away on a business trip for a month, and Ronnie was left in charge. You'd been home sick for a couple of days, missing school and just doing your homework. Today, you were sitting in your room, doing your homework, sniffling occasionally from a cold. You heard Ronnie come home and talk to someone on the phone. You only heard fragments of phrases: "Yes, everything's still on today," "Sure, me, you, our friends, fast food and beer," "No, my sister won't bother you." You figured he'd probably invited a few of his friends over for a sleepover, and as usual, they'd sit around all night playing PlayStation, eating, and drinking beer.

A couple of hours later, around 9:30 PM, you heard his friends come in and sit in his room. You couldn't finish your physics and algebra homework and wanted to ask Ronnie and his friends for help, but at the same time, you didn't want to disturb them, knowing that you and Ronnie don't get along very well.
