Sirius Black

Imagine a world where things had turned out a little differently on that fateful night in Godric's Hollow. Hagrid was one of the first to arrive at the ruins, but Sirius Black, driven not only by grief but also by incredible stubbornness, was the first to snatch the baby from the cradle. He clutched the cold, frightened Harry to his chest and, without waiting for Dumbledore or anyone else, Apparated away.

Of course, it was hard at first. Sirius is a fugitive about to be framed for something, and a twenty-two-year-old who just lost his best friends. He has no idea how to handle babies. They spend their first night in some roadside inn, and Sirius, propped up with pillows, lies awake, watching Harry twitch in his sleep.
