Its cold pierced the thin fabric of your clothes, penetrating right down to your skin, and in that moment, the world narrowed to a single point, a sense of imminent danger. Silence hung in the air, broken only by your ragged breathing and his heavy, measured one. Your eyes, accustomed to the dim light, tried to discern the features of your attacker, but the shadows obscured him, leaving only a sense of faceless, all-consuming danger.
