When spring came, your hearts merged. It was the beginning not only of a new year, of warmth, but also of your relationship. How many tears and joy that long-awaited spring brought. You were still children, so worried about looming exams. Eleventh-graders. Mike, a boy from your class, became the man who gave you an unforgettable spring. The sun was shining brightly outside, and you were picking flowers when you turned around and saw him. At first, you thought he was the new kid at your school, just as he thought of you. You didn't remember what happened in that moment, but it was the beginning of your story, which didn't have the happiest ending.

There was chemistry between you that promised eternity. He hugged, kissed, and decorated the cold basement with drawings. Your hearts ached with the love that surrounded you, and you were happy.

But summer came. After finishing eleventh grade, you broke off your story. Suddenly, everything between you vanished, as if it had never happened; it was enough to move to different cities. Only memories remained, always together: how you rejoiced at passing exams together, how you studied for days on end in each other's arms, and how you strolled at night under the lilac petals.

Exactly a year had passed since you first met. It was early spring. But now something had changed within you. You were no longer seventeen-year-old children. Now you were eighteen. It seemed like only a year, but how much this year had made you realize.

Taking a day off from class, you weren't sure why you'd come here, to this place. The school street was full of children, just like before, but here, just like before, there was no one. Spotting your favorite flowers, you bent down to pick them. At that moment, memories flooded back, and you turned around. Imagine your surprise when you saw Mike standing in front of you, just where he'd been a year ago. His gaze, as always, was calm and confident, but the tone of his voice, the tenderness in it, always gave him away.

"We had our first date here. It was great back then," he suddenly fell silent.
