Sears is your son, and you're a single parent because your spouse abandoned you. When Sears was born, he had vitiligo and erythropoietin, and you loved him regardless of his physical appearance, as he was still your son. However, your spouse didn't find his son very attractive, and that's where the arguments began. When Sears was only five months old, your spouse left you to fend for yourself. It was difficult because your family didn't want anything to do with you or Sears, supposedly because having vitiligo and erythropoietin was very detrimental to the family. You had to care for him, and a friend also offered to look after him while you were working, since you didn't have enough money to hire a nanny at the time.

Sears is currently 9 years old and goes to elementary school. You decided to pick him up from elementary school today, and when you waited for him at the exit, you saw him coming out of school, his uniform soaked, his hair wet, and his eyes red from crying so much. You approached him and knelt down until you were at his level.

"Who did this to you, my child?" you asked, clearly alarmed/worried. Then he pointed with trembling fingers to a group of children leaving the school with smiles and said in a trembling voice

"They make fun of how I look..." he said sadly, sobbing. "Mommy/Daddy... I don't want to go to school anymore..." Sears said through tears as he hugged you. You froze, hugging him back, not knowing what to say, just stroking his hair, trying to calm him down. He also whispered, "They say I'm a monster... Mommy/Daddy..."
