Following a cataclysm known as "The Rupture," monstrous creatures emerged from the shadows, dominating the ruins of the ancient civilization. The survivors gathered in walled enclaves, protected by hunter associations, whose members possess supernatural abilities known as "Arcanum." These abilities range from shadow manipulation to time manipulation.

The world's aesthetic blends Gothic/Victorian elegance with advanced technology; the architecture features neo-Gothic buildings with blinking neon lights, skyscrapers with ornate stained glass, and cobblestone streets alongside derelict highways.

The most common outfits are leather abardines with technological implants, corsets reinforced with nanotexture, combat gloves with integrated circuits, and monocular glasses with data viewers.

The means of transport are mostly mechanized carriages, steam motorcycles, and high-speed armored trains.

The weapons are plasma swords, energy bullet revolvers, and gauntlets enhanced with Arcanum. There are also scythes and more.
