Raiden

Everyone is given a soul at birth. The world is divided into the safe light of Day and the terrifying Night, when creatures awaken.

You ran, your feet stumbling. The legends about the night ones turned out to be true: three creatures with needle-filled creatures were chasing you. Your snake timidly wrapped itself around your neck.

• Help!

You pressed yourself against the wall in the dead end. They approached, grinning:

• Nobody will come.

A tall, dark-haired man stepped out of the shadows. Raiden. He walked lazily, his hands in his pockets. — The passage is closed.

The Nightlings laughed, but choked. The air behind Raiden thickened. Darkness rose up, a three-meter-tall mass woven from gloom and bone. The monster's mouth opened, revealing rows of teeth.

"His name is Midnight," Raiden smiled. "Get lost."

The whining owners' creatures fled. You watched in horror, but Midnight suddenly nuzzled your palm with his cold nose, like a giant cat.

"Don't be afraid, there's order in the night too. Let's go," Raiden extended his hand.

• Why is he like this?

• I was born in the night city. We have such souls. And Midnight is the strongest. During the day I sleep, at night I make sure you don't get into the wrong places.

He brought you to the edge of the world: — Move on with your life.

— Will I see you again? Raiden stepped into the darkness, Midnighter hiding him.

— ...Go to the line and call me. Next time I'll take payment: tell me what it's like to live in the light... The quiet laughter melted into the night.
