Gyro Zeppeli

Johnny is a young man of below-average height, with a slender build and, to some extent, a delicate build due to his condition. His eyes are light blue; his light blond hair is medium-length, reaching his shoulders, and curls upwards at the ends. Johnny always wears a light blue wool hat with a pattern of small five-pointed stars. His hair sticks out of holes on either side of the top of his hat, giving it the shape of short horns. Sewn onto the hat is a horseshoe that hangs from the front, and the space between the two points of the horseshoe is a silhouette of a horse's head.

He wears a short-sleeved blue hooded shirt with thick black stripes on each arm, giving it the appearance of a harness (later replaced with heart-shaped patches on both shoulders). His pants, like his shirt, are light blue with small five-pointed stars, and he wears shoes with spurs. In cold weather, Johnny wears a long-sleeved top with a similar design to his shirt.

As a paraplegic, Johnny is seen using a wheelchair before the start of the race; but during the race he usually rides his horse, Slow Dancer.

Turn/Stand Main article: Tusk Johnny first seeks Gyro Zeppeli's tutelage in the ways of the Giro to regain the use of his legs. Often, Johnny channels the Giro with the help of his Stand, Tusk, initially developed using the power of the Corpse's left hand, and later with Gyro's assistance. Unlike Gyro, who uses his Steel Spheres, Johnny uses his fingernails as weapons.

ACT I, is awakened in the Devil's Palm when the Corpse Part combines with Johnny's left hand, manifesting his Stand with the ability to spin his nails and fire them in a manner similar to bullets. ACT II manifests when Johnny fires one of his fingernails while incorporating the Golden Rectangle during a fight against Sandman. It grants his fingernails increased speed and power, along with a new ability that allows bullet holes to track the target for a short time. ACT III is Tusk's final form and manifests when Johnny fires himself using a Golden Rectangle-powered weapon, allowing him to transfer parts of his body through holes to fire projectiles in different directions. It was awakened by a piece of advice from Jesus during a fight against Axl Ro. ACT IV manifests as a result of using the horse's power combined with the Golden Rectangle, allowing Johnny to fire nail bullets that have infinite rotation. ACT IV possesses the power to force D4C's Love Train.

Johnny Joestar is a teenager who is introduced feeling deeply depressed after being shot and left paraplegic. Before meeting Gyro, Johnny is shown to be a person who has lost his way in life, questioning why he went to San Diego Beach, the starting point of the Steel Ball Run.

Throughout his life, Johnny always blamed himself for the death of his brother Nicholas Joestar, whom he admired and wanted to emulate. Because of this, and his strained relationship with his father, Johnny became insecure to the point of considering himself useless, a fact demonstrated at various stages of his career when facing different enemies.

After Johnny witnesses Gyro Zeppeli's ability with the Steel Balls, called Giro, which allows him to stand upright for a moment, he decides to follow Gyro because he is incredibly stubborn and tenacious. Despite his disability, he is self-reliant, and it is for this reason that he decides to enter the Steel Ball Run and closely follow Gyro, hoping to make contact with him and learn the mysterious ability.

Gyro had a normal childhood, his father telling him that he was in the hands of the monarchy and that it was not in the position of the monarch's subordinates to be sentimental, his father, Gregorio Zeppeli had complimented Gyro's sentimentality when he had attempted to use his spinning abilities to heal Wekapipo's sister and failed, stating that restoring her sight fully would have consequences that would make his brother-in-law hunt her down and kill her.

Gregorio instructed Gyro in the use of the Steel Balls, training him to become a skilled executioner. Although the Zeppeli Family generally adhered to issuing the death penalty to serious and dangerous criminals, there was one incident that resulted in the arrest and death sentence of an innocent boy who earned his living by shining shoes. Gyro was shocked when he heard this and even more so when the boy offered to clean the executioner's own shoes.

Gyro wasn't that kind of person. He knew the boy was innocent, so he spared his life. In doing so, his family considered him a traitor and kicked him out of the house. Later, Gyro, upon learning about the Steel Ball Run and the $50,000,000 million dollars, thought that if he traveled to America and obtained them, he could reconcile with his family and save the boy.

Gyro is a man of average to above-average height and average to athletic build. He has long, light blond hair that reaches his collarbone, light eyes, square patches of facial hair covering his jawline, and (in illustrations) often painted lips. He either has grills or the phrase "GO! GO! ZEPPELI" chiseled into prosthetic teeth.

Gyro's basic equipment consists of a black, short-sleeved, leather-studded coat, leather pants, and cowboy boots. He wears a belt with a buckle engraved with a pair of hands pointing towards his crotch, and on his hips, he wears a pair of special holsters for his Steel Spheres. He wears a wide-brimmed hat with slits in the crown and brim that allow light and air to filter through. Perched around the top of his hat are a pair of goggles with slits. Depending on the weather, he may also equip his goggles with a scarf.

Turn The Zeppeli Family's Spin technique, typically executed with special Steel Spheres, is a versatile skill that Gyro has trained in since his youth. Gyro equips himself with two Steel Spheres as a means of self-defense, attack, and general strategic advantage.

By launching his Steel Spheres with the Spin, Gyro can create a variety of impressive trajectories, even capable of making them return directly to him, especially after a successful contact against his target.

Upon impact with flesh, spiral waves often appear. Gyro can apply a wide range of effects to human or animal targets, including muscular, nervous, and skeletal manipulation, as well as forcefully twisting flesh to drain water.

Gyro is a proud and eccentric executioner marked by the harshness of life, and he participates in the Steel Ball Run for the sake of a child.

Gyro is initially introduced as an arrogant and aggressive jockey in Steel Ball Run. Unlike other competitors, Gyro always seeks to take first place aggressively, overtaking everyone [4] and then defending himself against anyone who challenges him. He also has a tendency to take dangerous shortcuts to get ahead of the other competitors. Gyro is a rough man, mocking the vast majority of those he encounters with insults and sneers. Even with his closest friend Johnny Joestar, Gyro doesn't mince words and sometimes argues with him.
