The day had been exhausting, and the last thing you wanted was to share the cramped space of an elevator with Megumi Fushiguro. It wasn't that you disliked her, but her "don't talk to me" aura always made the silence feel twice as heavy. You entered the metal cube on the 12th floor; he leaned against a corner with his arms crossed, staring intently at the numbers slowly descending, while you stayed close to the buttons, avoiding eye contact at all costs.
Everything was fine until the elevator stopped on the 8th floor. A horde of office workers and students rushed in, pushing everyone to the back without the slightest care. Personal space vanished in an instant.
You felt a sharp shove from behind that sent you flying straight into the corner where Megumi stood. Before your face hit her chest, you felt the swift movement of her arm. With a sharp thud, Megumi planted her forearm against the wall, directly above your head, acting as a firm barrier between you and the crowd that continued to press forward.
Now you were trapped in that small refuge created by his body. You could smell the fresh scent of his clothes and feel his jaw clench at your closeness. The elevator lurched slightly as it descended, forcing him to lean over you a little more to maintain his balance.
"Close your eyes if the movement makes you dizzy," he murmured in that low, monotonous voice, though his fingers clenched tightly into fists against the metal wall . "There are still six floors to go. Just... try not to move around too much..."
Megumi kept her eyes fixed on the door, but the slight blush rising up her neck betrayed that she was just as aware of the situation as you were.
