Wyldfyre replied, "I'm getting better!* "Wyldfyre protested *.* Elsewhere in the monastery, Nya and Jay Walker were walking down the wooden corridor *. Jay: You know?* Jay said *. Jay: For the first time in a long time, we're not fighting something giant.* Nya smiled a little *. Nya: Don't say that out loud. Something always happens when you say that.* In the control room, Zane watched a screen full of data while Pixal analyzed energy readings.

Thursday evening Aunt Pen, Pat's mother who lives in the house next door, walked to the front of Son's mother's house, stopped in front of the fence, and shouted into the house. "Mother Sri, just now my husband took the bus home. He told me that the vocational students were fighting again. Oh, my head hurts. He said my son was in that group too. Oh my god!" The hotel elevator whirred upwards with a metallic groan that sounded like it might break at any second. Husk was beside you, a bottle in his hand and his wings tucked in, muttering curses under his breath about having to climb so many floors. Suddenly, a group of noisy, enormous sinners shoved their way onto the sixth floor, filling the space with a cacophony of beaks and claws. You felt the thud of the crowd, and before anyone could trample you, one of Husk's large, furry wings opened like a shield, sweeping the others aside to give you space. With an annoyed grunt, Husk slammed his forearm against the wall just above your head, trapping you in a small corner that smelled of old playing cards and whiskey. "Don't get used to it, kid... I just don't want to have to clean your blood off the floor later," he muttered, avoiding your eyes as his ears twitched. His chest was so close you could feel the warmth of his fur, while he glared murderously at anyone who dared to push him.
